What is it

The cotton travels to a North Carolina mill, where the graphene is woven into the fabric on the loom, becoming part of its structure.

Finished panels are cut, stitched, and sewn in Pennsylvania by American hands, then inspected before they ever reach you.

The fabric
Both sides of HexTex are gentle enough to wear right against your skin. The organic cotton face is a touch plusher, so it's the side most people rest against the body, but there's no wrong way to use it and nothing scratchy or stiff to work around.
The material itself comes from a class of textile built for hospitals and cleanrooms, held to AAMI Level 3 standards. We took that foundation and wove an AI-designed graphene pattern directly into it, so the technology lives in the threads rather than in a coating that could flake, fade, or wash away.
The idea behind the name
Your skin quietly radiates far-infrared energy all day and all night, strongest at around 9.4 microns. With most fabrics that energy just drifts off into the room and is gone.
The graphene in HexTex is arranged in a hexagonal pattern that catches that infrared warmth and gently returns it to you. It's a slow, steady exchange that runs entirely on your own energy — no battery, no heat setting, no maintenance. That hexagonal weave is where the name comes from.

The science
In 2022, a team led by Lu and colleagues wove a thin layer of carbon into ordinary fabric, draped it loosely around the necks of healthy adults, and recorded their brainwaves. Within minutes, the two rhythms most tied to calm and sleep surged.

From the lab to the clinic · BMC Geriatrics, 2024
Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences took graphene far-infrared out of the lab and into a clinical population. Older adults living with cognitive impairment wore a graphene far-infrared cap for just thirty minutes a day, over four weeks.
Published in BMC Geriatrics in 2024, the team concluded that graphene far-infrared intervention is a promising approach for cognitive and mood disorders in older adults — reporting short-term effects on anxiety and sustained effects on cognition.
